Founder, Million Fishes Art Collective
Kevin Clarke founded the Million Fishes Arts Collective in San Francisco in 2003. Million Fishes was created to give artists an opportunity to live and collaborate with other artists of different trainings, backgrounds and mediums; as well as diverse economic, national, and cultural origins. Since its inception 6 years, Million Fishes has housed over 50 resident artists who have collaborated and expanded their artistic practice with the ability to display and perform their art. While 16 people regularly live at the collective it is also a place for the community to gather, take classes, display art and build installations. Million Fishes is a living, breathing response to market driven art production, and an attempt to break down medium exclusivity for the individual while providing encouragement and support for collaborative projects.
